Germany’s Ambassador to Tehran Hans-Udo Mutzel in a meeting with Director-General of Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants Affairs Mehdi Mahmoudi, praised Iran’s hosting of refuges and the displaced.
Mahmoudi and Mutzel met on Friday to discuss augmentations of supports and assistance on allocation of funds to Afghan refugees.
German Ambassador appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran for rendering services to Afghan refugees entering Iran due to recent developments and said that Berlin was trying to solve refugees problem through expanding international cooperation.
He also said that Germany would allocate a budget for vaccination of refugees against COVID-19.
Mahmoudi said that supporting refugees is an international responsibility that necessitates fair participation of all international organization and community, calling the international community to fund vaccination program for Afghan refugees.
Assistance from international community, European Union and UNHCR is too limited, Mahmoudi criticized, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran couldn’t solve all problems alone in this regard.
