On the second day of the visit of the Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs to Syria, the Memorandum of Understanding of the Trilateral Judicial Committee on Counter-terrorism was signed between Iran, Iraq and Syria with the aim of combating against terrorism.
 

HCHR_On the second day of the meeting of the first Trilateral Joint Judicial Committee on Counter-terrorism between Iran, Iraq and Syria, with the aim of fighting against terrorist acts and terrorist groups, especially the ISIS terrorist group, the memorandum of understanding of this committee was signed by Kazem Gharibabadi, the Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs, Judge Hassan Al-Shash, the Head of the Supreme Court of Syria, and Judge Laith Jaber, the Head of the Iraqi Judicial Supervision Organization.



About the matters agreed between the three countries, Gharibabadi said: “Expanding trilateral legal and judicial cooperation through continuous exchange of information and experiences, discovering crimes and prosecuting the accused, documenting the crimes committed, prosecuting and extraditing and punishing the agents of the ISIS terrorist group and their supporters, and defending the rights of victims in national and international courts, judicial assistance in the territory of three countries, filing lawsuits and complaints in foreign courts against terrorist groups and their supporters, identifying the leaders and main elements of terrorist groups and placing their names on the United Nations terrorist list, and the prosecution of those who aid and abet and partners of the terrorist attack of the Zionist regime on the consular building of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, are among the most important cases mentioned in this memorandum”.

The Vice President of the Judiciary stated: “In this memorandum of understanding, it was also decided that the urgent action be taken by the members of this committee in order to form a joint working group to document terrorist acts committed by terrorist groups in three countries, assess the feasibility of forming a joint court to deal with crimes committed by terrorist groups in accordance with the laws of the three countries, and to exchange of documents and the information related to the terrorist crime of Baghdad International Airport which led to the martyrdom of Haj Qassem Soleimani, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and their companions, and the prosecution of the perpetrators of this crime.
