US $4 Billion Arms Deal with Israel

  • US $4 Billion Arms Deal with Israel

The Trump administration has signed an arms deal worth $4 billion with Israel, bypassing Congress.

According to Ma'ariv, the US State Department last night (Friday) bypassed the Congressional oversight mechanism and approved a $4 billion deal for military equipment and advanced weapons to Israel, including tens of thousands of fighter jet bombs, D9 bulldozers, and guidance systems that convert bunker-busting bombs into smart bombs.

According to a statement from the US State Department, 35,000 one-ton bombs and 4,000 bunker-penetrating bomb warheads will be delivered to Israel in 2026, as well as D9 bulldozers in 2027, and 5,000 500-kilogram bombs in 2028.

The Yedioth Aharonot newspaper also reported that the contract for the delivery of these heavy loads was suspended during the tenure of former US President Joe Biden. The media outlet also claimed that: As part of its commitment to Israel, the United States signed the contract with the aim of maintaining Israel's military superiority and helping the regime confront regional threats.

According to Wallanews, the Biden administration had previously refused the D9 bulldozer contract due to the regime's use of this heavy equipment in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and damage to civilian infrastructure.
