Advisor to the Iranian Parliament Speaker Hossein Amir Abdollahian lashed out at the Bahraini ruling family of a-Khalifa for following the policies dictated from Washington and Tel Aviv against its own people.

“Al-Khalifa regime has changed Bahrain into a laboratory for (implementing) the dirty policies of the White House, the illegitimate Tel Aviv and Riyadh,” Amir Abdollahian tweeted on Thursday.

“The delivered unfair verdicts against 139 Bahraini nationals will not help with resolving the internal crisis in the country,” he wrote.

As reported, Bahrain court pronounced verdict convicting 139 people on terrorism-related charges on Tuesday.

In a related front, Amir Abdollahian had earlier in late January rapped al-Khalifa regime for collaboration with the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, to suppress the oppressed people of Bahrain

"Al-Khalifa must end systematic suppression against the oppressed and innocent people of Bahrain," Amir Abdollahian wrote on his Twitter page on January 24.

He also deplored "collaboration between Bahraini security service" and the "illegitimate Israeli regime's Mossad" in a new wave of Bahrainis' crackdown as a move "against the regional collective security".

Earlier in the month, people in the tiny Persian Gulf kingdom of Bahrain held anti-regime protests, expressing anger at crackdown on pro-democracy activists.

The demonstrations coincided with US Secretary of State Mike Pompe's visit to the kingdom as part of his tour of the Middle East.

The demonstrators in the villages of Diraz and al-Musalla honored those lost their lives during the anti-regime protests, and expressed their solidarity with the country's most prominent Shiite cleric, Sheikh Isa Qassim.

In June 2016, Bahraini authorities revoked Sheikh Qassim's citizenship over accusations that he used his position to serve foreign interests and promote violence, a charge the clergymen strongly denies.

He has since been confined to house arrest, resulting in deterioration of his health condition.

In May 2017, a regime court convicted Sheikh Qassim of illegal collection of funds and money laundering, and sentenced him to one year in jail suspended for three years.

Last year, the cleric underwent surgeries in London. In December, he travelled to Iraq and is now believed to be there.
