  • Germany should cooperate to allay suspicions on Gen. Soleimani assassination case: HR official

In a meeting with the German ambassador to Tehran, the Secretary of High Council for Human Rights demanded that Germany cooperate with the Iranian judicial system in order to eliminate suspicions on Gen. Soleimani assassination case and also complete the information on the executors and accomplices of this crime.

The German ambassador to Tehran, Hans-Udo Muzel met with the Secretary of High Council for Human Rights and discussed the promotion of human rights interactions between the two countries, HCHR news agency reported.

Mentioning the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stance on supporting the Palestinian and Yemeni people against the wester countries’ back-up for the Zionist and the Saudi regimes, Bagheri said that the IRI’s policy is based on human rights but the western human rights is based on political interests.

“The IRI’s stance with respect to peaceful nuclear activities and its missile power has also a human rights basis since the Iranian nation has the right to apply its scientific, technological and industrial power in order to defend its territorial integrity and guarantee its national welfare”, Bagheri added.

The Deputy of International Affairs to the Judiciary also mentioned the political and media propaganda with regard to detention of binationals and said that among millions of Iranians who live abroad and have additional nationalities; almost 40 persons have dealt with Iranian judicial system during the past four decades. In the IRI’s view, having additional nationality is neither considered an advantage for a person nor does it deprive them of their rights.

“The requirement for making progress in human rights interaction and understanding for western countries is not to look at the human rights issue with political glasses”, HCHR Secretary said.

Bagheri also considered having dialogues as a logical solution and stressed that not having dialogues could change simple ambiguities into serious differences. “a dialogue is for both sides to reach a conclusion but that one side of a dialogue issues a decision prior to the dialogue is contrary to the culture of a having a dialogue, just like a judge who issues a decision before hearing a case.”

A human rights resolution works like a pre-judgment and is a serious obstacle to a constructive dialogue and this obstacle has not been made by the Iranian side and this conveys that the other side of is not taking the dialogue seriously, the HCHR Secretary added.

Regarding the news on utilization of a US military base in Germany for the aim of assassinating General Soleimani, Bagheri asked the German side to cooperate with the Iranian judicial system so as to remove the ambiguities and complete the case.

Also, the German ambassador to Tehran expressed his country’s view on different human rights issues and said that more attempt are needed to be made so we could understand the human rights issues in a better way.

At the end of the meeting, a book titled “The Encyclopedia of IRI’s Martyrs of Terror” which includes names and features of 17159 Iranians assassinated by terrorist acts was handed to the German ambassador.
