On the occasion of the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, the first child of an Iranian woman married to a foreign national received his Iranian identity card in a symbolic ceremony today in Kermanshah governor's office.

Hossein Khosh Eqbal, political, security and social deputy governor of Kermanshah, said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always welcomed foreigners.

During the past few years, foreign nationals living in Iran have married Iranian women, and with the new law, from now on, the children of these people can enjoy the benefits of Iranian identity cards, he added.

Farhad Hemmati, the Director General of the Office of Foreign Citizens and Immigrants also said that there are 1,500 authorized citizens with passports and identity cards in the province, 500 of whom have Iranian identity cards.
