The Deputy of International Affairs to the High Council for Human Rights, Seyed Majid Tafreshi attended the 18th ceremony of health screening and inauguration of health projects in different provinces of the country, which was attended by the Vice President, Minister of Health , Deputy Ministers and Senior Managers of the Ministry of Health and Regional Director of the World Health Organization, and explained the mission and activities of the HCHR and its direct relationship with undeniable and inviolable rights such as the right to health and the right to life, High Council for Human Rights reported.

World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Eastern Mediterranean Ahmad al-Manzari, who has paid a visit to Iran, said that the national action plan of Iran to manage non-communicable diseases must take into account by the regional states.

He termed the COVID-19 as an opportunity for health systems in the world to get well-prepared for possible future pandemics by making structural changes.

Earlier on Wednesday, he said that Iran’s successful policies in the battle with COVID-19 will be shared with other states.

The Iranian health personnel is doing well in the fight against the pandemic, he underlined.

He further noted that Iran is conducting research and producing vaccines to this end.

Recently, the domestically produced vaccine for the coronavirus dubbed COV-Pars has been unveiled in Iran. The product that has been developed by Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute is an inhalable vaccine.

 

At the end of the ceremony, the Deputy of International Affairs to the HCHR appreciated Mr. al-Manzari's efforts, presented a brief report on the history and selection of the winners of the sixth round of the Islamic Human Rights Award.

Also, the awarding of the Islamic human rights plaque and statue, which was postponed due to the outbreak of Corona virus and the impossibility of al-Manzari’s visit to our country, was presented by the Minister of Health and the Vice President for Programs and Budget to the Regional Director of the World Health Organization.
