In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the relentless efforts of that ministry, the Judiciary Ministry, and the Islamic Republic of Iran Embassy in Ankara, as well as the assistance of the Iran Judiciary Force, led to transferring 26 Iranian prisoners in Turkey to spend the remaining of their imprisonment terms in Iran, on March, 20th, 2023.
The move is made in implementing the articles of a bilateral judiciary cooperation agreement and in continuation of the two countries' comprehensive cooperation pacts.
It is expected that this process will lead to greater facilitation between the judiciary and coordinating between the judiciary and disciplinary forces of the two countries for making easier of having access of the prisoners' families of the two countries to their relatives in their own countries.
