Sheikh Isa Qassim was quoted by Bahraini news channel Al Masirah on Sunday that Bahrain’s decision to join the anti-Yemen coalition that seeks to protect the Israeli regime in its aggression on Gaza as “ugly, painful and disgraceful”.
The Shia cleric underlined that the people of Bahrain feel shame because their government has adopted such a stance.
The United States said last month that it was forming a coalition to fight against the Yemeni Army’s operation in the Red Sea. That comes as France, Sprain and Italy left the group while Bahrain was the only Arab country to join the initiative.
The US and UK struck bases of Yemen’s Ansarullah on Friday (January 12) following United Nations Security Council ratified a resolution to condemn attacks on shipping in the Red Sea.
The attacks took place after the Yemeni Army started targeting some Zionist ships or other vessels destined for the occupied lands to support the resistance of the Palestinian nation in the Gaza Strip.
Spokesperson of Yemen’s Armed Forces Yahya Saree said in a statement after the attacks that the US-UK aggression will never make Yemen withdraw from its stance to support the Palestinian nation in their fights against oppression.
