The Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights and the Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs said in a meeting with the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Human Rights Council: “Our approach in the field of human rights must be proactive”.
The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Human Rights Council met with the Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights and the Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs. The delegation is going to participate in the 113th session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination, in order to defend the two-year national report of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the implementation of the convention.
Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Parliament, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the Judiciary and the High Council for Human Rights were present in this meeting.
Gharibabadi stated in this meeting: “According to the Supreme Leader, we should take an active approach in the field of human rights. We have made a new rail in the field of human rights, so that in addition to exposing human rights violations and discriminatory approaches and double standards in the field of human rights, we hold the countries that violate human rights accountable for their actions and crimes. The crimes committed by the Zionist regime in the occupied territories, especially Gaza, and the support offered by the countries claiming human rights to this occupying and child-killing regime, clearly revealed the dual approaches of Western human rights to the international public opinion.
In the end, the Secretary General of the HCHR provided the delegation with some points regarding their mission.
