Seventy-one years ago on this day, a group with a deviant and racist ideas killed native people of Palestine, including men and women, the young and the elderly, and the innocent children, the statement reads.
The event is known in Palestine as 'Nakba Day' meaning day of disaster and displacement of hundreds of thousands Palestinians, it added.
The Foreign Ministry said that on 'Nekba Day' an illegitimate entity called the Zionist regime was born due to the US support and occupying the Palestinian territories.
It noted that the regime has continued with existence by waging war, committing atrocity crimes and occupation and has today turned out to be the main reason of regional crises and the real threat to the global peace.
Expressing its solidarity with Palestinians' aspirations, the Islamic Republic of Iran once again underlines the important responsibility of the international community especially the United Nations to end the systematic occupation of Palestine and the Holy Quds, helping Palestinians determine their fate and establish an independent Palestinian government with Holy Quds as its capital.
The International community is expected to take major step to end the continued occupation, the atrocity crimes and aggressions of the Israeli regime, to pave the way for repatriation of the Palestinian refugees to their own homeland and to hold referendum with participation of all residents of the Palestinian territories including Muslims, Christians and Jews to recognize the political system of the State of Palestine.
