In the weekly meeting held by the High Judicial Council on Monday, Mohammad Mehdi Hajmohammadi, the Director of Bureau of Prisons announced that following the Inmates Monitoring Plan implemented by the judiciary in order to identify inmates with a chance to be set free, the judiciary staff have remarkably examined the problems of inmates in detail and in addition to 7000 inmates who have been released, 1500 other have been offered reduction in their punishments.
He also said that considering the shortage in the number of social workers, NGOs have been a great help to the Bureau of Prisons in this regard following the Directive issued by the Head of Judiciary.
