Inmate becomes entrepreneur after release

  • Inmate becomes entrepreneur after release

Once an inmate, a man who has made great efforts, has not only achieved self-reliance through entrepreneurship, but has also provided employment opportunities for a number of job seekers, the High Council for Human Rights reported.

The issue of empowerment or entrepreneurship of inmates in Iran is not a new social phenomenon, but it can be a valuable model for other inmates who are willing to take a new step in society after being released from prison.

A 29-year-old man who was once imprisoned for selling drugs has now become an entrepreneur for himself, according to the report.

Having learned beekeeping, fishing and pistachio gardening in prison, Haydar is now able to stand on his own feet and employ other people.

Supportive governmental institutions in different provinces of our country have tried over the past years to empower the target community with the style of skills training and facility support so that such entrepreneurs can become an effective model for the whole country.
